CREATED FOR LOVE

Do you know why you were created? Upon hearing the biblical account of creation, a common question is, why did God create human beings if they knew they were going to mess up? This answer, I think, is easier understood by those of us that have children. We have children out of a desire to be able to show love to another human being. We have dreams of spoiling them with stuff, watching them grow and succeed. It brings us joy to see them happy. Then of course there is the trust and faith they have in us, that gives our lives new meaning. They adore us; our word is gold and hearing them say I love you is the most beautiful thing in the world. Well we were created in God’s likeness and beyond what we comprehend about love, God is love. He needed people to pour his love out on and yes, he desires to be loved in return. Fortunately, unlike us who find it difficult to continue to love in the face of rejection, it doesn’t stop God from loving us. Romans 5:8 states that God demonstrates his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. That’s the key right there. God sent His Son to die when we were at our worse. As His child, is there anything you could do to stop that love now?

So, the answer is that you were created so God could love you!  Now just think for a moment what that means. The God of all creation, loves you. He wants to spoil you with all good things, takes pleasure in watching you grow and succeed, and rejoices when your trust in Him brings you happiness. Why then do you worry about your needs being met?  Would you ever deliberately not give your child something they needed? Why do you accept sickness as though your Father had something to do with it? Would you tell your child that they deserve their sickness or withhold treatment to teach them a lesson? Do we think that we are better than our Father God? It says in Matthew 7:11″ If you then being evil, (corrupted by sin) know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him?”

Ask yourself what  your life would be like if you truly believed that you were created by God so that He could pour His love out on you. What in this world would you fear? What would it matter what other people think of you? What could you not achieve?

This is the thinking that we need to have and we can. Jesus said that unless you receive the kingdom of God like a little child, you can’t get in. (Luke 18:17) This was the same kingdom of God that Jesus preached was coming; told us to seek for and said was within us. (Mark 1:15, Matt 6:33, Luke 17:21) In order to experience it, it requires that child-like faith that blindly trusts and obeys because it never questions the love of the parents or doubts that they have their best interests at heart. The foundation for this is the knowledge of God’s unwavering, passionate love for you, His child.

Galatians 4:6 says: “and because you are sons, God has sent the spirit if His son into your hearts, crying out Abba father”. Abba means Daddy. If we are born again, the Holy Spirit we have received knows who our Daddy is and will bear witness to it. So ask the Holy Spirit to help you. Get to know your Daddy by reading the Bible and learning about Jesus, who is the exact representation of God. (Hebrews 1:3) Surrender to His love and live your life in faith as the Sons and Daughters of The King that you are. Your life will not be the same.
